Slowing Down and Not Rushing

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I saw this quote the other day and it really hit home. Lately I feel like I have been rushing through all my days. Rushing to get the boys up, rushing through breakfast and our morning routine, rushing to get Max to school on time, rushing through those three hours while he is there to get all my errands done and then rushing home to play with Molly/do our night time routine and then rushing to get the boys to bed so my husband and I can finally get a few words in without interruption. And to be honest it's exhausting.  I mean weren't you exhausted just reading that?  Sometimes I wonder if I create all this in my head or if others feel the same way.

I would love to be one of the few that can look back and say time did not fly by as fast as everyone says.  And I know in order for that to happen I have to slow down.  I need to enjoy my days and the little moments where we eat cereal and watch cartoons and soak it all up instead of just trying to get  through the next moment like it's a task.  So starting this very moment I am making a change...

And that's all for today :)

This really hit home with me, thank you so much for sharing! And perfect timing too… Leaving on a family vacation tomorrow - a great reminder to slow down and soak up every moment.

I can't even figure out how to work full time, have a clean home, go to the gym, and cook dinner every day. And I don't even have kids. There's never enough time, but yes, it's important to slow down :)

Isn't it amazing. I've found that there will ALWAYS be something to suck up your time. I now have a job with less hours, and you'd think that would create more free time, but I just find that I say, "Yes" to more stuff. It is a constant effort for me to relax and rejuvenate and live my life instead of letting it get sucked up by all these millions of things. Happy New Year!

My girls are teenagers now. Unfortunately it seems to get busier, not the other way arouingnd! You just move from one stage to another. Preschool to elementary, then on to Jr High and High School. They keep you running! Enjoy-they grow up quickly. My oldest is leaving for college next year.

Thanks for the reminder.. I was rushing my 11 months old to wake up so that I can go to office on time. Looks like this mom guilt never goes away :(

Love this! Thanks for sharing your heart :) I really needed to read this not only to implement it but to know that there are other mommies out there that feel this way too, all too often.
