My Good Morning America Segment

ABC US News | ABC International News
When I originally wrote this post I had no idea how fast it would spread. My intention for sharing my story was not to scare people or make moms never want to take their children to the pool again...it was the opposite. I wanted to share the story simply for the fact that I wanted to make others aware of something that I have never heard of.
My post went viral and it blew me away how many people were unaware. ABC Good Morning America called me recently and asked if they could do an interview. I felt like it was such blessing because it was allowing me to share about the dangers of secondary drowning on a much bigger scale.
I am beyond terrified of public speaking (or speaking in front of cameras) but I decided to go ahead with the interview, which you can watch above if you want. Where is that little emoticon with the monkey covering his eyes when you need him? Ha!
And for all of those of you who have sent me e-mails asking how Ronin is doing, he is doing great. I have both boys in swimming lessons three times a week, with a sweet lady who comes to our house. Ronin is slowly getting more comfortable with the water and my hope is that he will learn to love the water and swimming will soon be second nature to him.

Thank you Caroline!
Wow that's so cool you were on GMA! I definitely shared your post with friends and family and have been talking about it a lot! Thanks so much for sharing your story!
Thank you again for sharing your story Lindsay! More importantly, I am so glad that Ronin is okay:)) p.s. You did an amazing interview too:)
You're a natural on camera. ;) Such an important story to share, Lindsay. When it had been posted on both my FB Mommy Pages within the day of you posting it, I knew it had went viral, and for good reason. Glad little Ronin is well!!
Thank you for sharing your story! I was at a pool party the following week and my husband pulled a little girl from the pool. His quick thinking saved her and I was able to share your story with her mom. You have undoubtedly saved lives by sharing such a personal moment in your life.

It's wonderful that you shared your story! I had never heard of this before and appreciate you spreading awareness :) I'm so happy to hear that Ronin is doing great. I can't imagine how scary this was for you guys.
After following you for years it was cool to hear your voice and see you move! So glad Ronin is doing well and while I'm not a mother (hopefully some day down the road) I think its great for anyone to know about this. Enjoy that gorgeous pool this summer :)
(also I had no problems with the embedded video)

Ahhhh! Your a star☆ so happy to see my oldest friend bring so much awareness! Glad to see little Ronan is ok. ♡ give the fam my love
I couldn't believe it when you were mentioned on the radio the other day while I was out driving! It's amazing how viral it went, I am all the way in Toronto! Great job of getting the word out. I was unaware of this issue before you brought it to light and it is good for any one, parent or not to know what to do should the situation happen to them
Love it! You look great on camera;) must be very healing to be able to tell your story to empower others!
Crazy, I've been on a blog hiatus lately and am scrolling my FB feed this morning where I see a story that a few friends have shared from the Huff Post. I'm reading about this scary thing called secondary drowning and my heart is breaking for this mama because MAN HOW SCARY and who the hell has ever heard of this and then I get to the end and see it was you (I wasn't putting two and two together w/ the names and pics!) Man, Lindsay how scary but I am glad your little guy is doing well and thank you for sharing and enlightening so many parents out there!!
I've heard so many non-blogging mamas talking about this lately! Love that you brought light to something so important, I'd never heard of it before. Thanks
Just saw this and read your original post! I made a video for parents to teach their own children how to swim! It is so important for parents to start preparing their children to be safe in the water from their first bath! Are you interested in doing a giveaway of my DVD? I made it after 30 years of teaching babies how to swim and want to get awareness of this to parents. Miss Bea
How scary! Praise the Lord Ronin is ok! Our oldest son almost drowned at 18 months old. Since then I've been a huge water safety nut! Our youngest son, 15 months old, is now taking ISR Infant Rescue Swim lessons. http://www.infantswim.com They are amazing! They've got some amazing videos on their site and on youtube.
