A few things that I have learned after our RV adventure:
- RVs camping is not my jam (I am not speaking for my boys who though it was heaven on wheels). Even if I had a million dollars to get a crazy RV that was all decked out, I would still rather just stay in a cabin or rent a little beach condo for the weekend. UGH I am so disappointed in myself that I am that girl, but hey at least I can admit it. I like hot showers and at least a queen bed. Go ahead and judge me if you want. The RV we rented was the most rickety thing ever (not even sure how it passed inspection ha) and I am just glad we made it alive and to our destination in one piece.
- Do not forget bandaids and first aid supplies when you go camping. Well DUHHHHHH (I am the worst mom ever) but I did indeed forget that stuff and the moment we arrived Ronin fell into a giant pile of rocks and was bleeding all over the place, which leads me to the third thing I learned.
- Make friends with your camping neighbors because you might need to ask them for bandaids, hydrogen peroxide and a wine opener (forgot that too). Man those people were prepared thank God!
- If you plan on taking pictures of your trip make sure to bring a back up memory card. My memory card decided to poop out on me half way through our trip and I lost ALL of the pictures I had previously taken (so bummed). Thankfully, I had a backup plan. Yes, I brought a backup memory card but forgot bandaids. I suck big time.
Minus the actual ghetto RV that we rented we had a wonderful time together as a family. The boys had the time of their lives for sure. When we came home and it was time to return the RV, Max was so bummed. Apparently he was convinced it was our new home forever and was completely fine with the thought of taking 10 second showers for the rest of his life :) Love that kid.

First time camping trips are the hardest ones. After a few you gain the knowledge and experience to know just what to bring with you. Many long years ago my hubs and I took our kids on boating/camping trips (from Lake Nacimiento to Lake Millerton to Lake Shasta). It was fun and the kids loved it but, yes, give me a nice hotel room with great room service any day. :D

I have always said I'm just not the camping in an RV kind. Friends and relatives like to go out every weekend in a camper. I have to ask when you're free from the M-F grind, why would you spend time with no amenities?!? lol
I've always thought it would be so fun to do that. Too bad I HATE road trips. Oh man, I get SO car sick. I do love to camp, though. Roughin' it style. Although, we have yet to go since having kids. Every year we say it's the year, then every year we chicken out.
Lindsay this blog post in it's entirety is why I think you are awesome and why we need to hang out again. Love that you had to ask your neighbors for bandaids AND a wine opener. That would totally be me. And the wtf would you do if you couldn't find a wine opener?? You would crack that sucker open for sure. I am with you on the RV. I have never gone for a ride in an RV, but something about it tells me that it just isn't my jam either. Haha. But seriously we need to hang out. ;)
You were in our backyard! We live in Atascadero, 20 minutes from Morro Bay. I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. We love Morro Bay and usually spend several days out there every summer.
I don't need to travel in an RV to know it's not my thing... So no judging here ;).
These pictures are so gorgeous!! To me that sounds like the best weekend ever! But I was raised camping (some of the time it was in an rv) so I'm used to it. I'm glad you still had fun and were able to meet some nice people! I can only imagine how much fun your boys had. :)
