No one really needs to know (or notice) if you stayed up a little too late watching Mad Men (guilty), had too much wine, or if you were woken up every other hour to feed a new baby (been there). This week's beauty tip is not only easy to do yourself, it works and gives you results almost instantly.
Why it works:
- Matcha green tea contains tannins and tannins help shrink swollen tissue.
- Caffeine from the tea constricts blood vessels to reduce swelling and dark circles.
- 1/4 tsp of matcha green tea powder (you can find this at an Asian market, health food store or online here
- 1/2 cup of warm filtered water
- Ice cube tray
Directions:
- Mix together the matcha green tea with 1/2 cup of warm water (the warm water helps it dissolve) and fill up the ice trays with it and let freeze. If you are using the tea from the tea bags simply fill as many ice trays as you wish after you are done brewing.
- Once the ice cubes are set you are ready to start your de-puffing beauty treatment! Or you can save them in the freezer for when you need them.
- Before applying under the eyes do a quick water rinse of the ice cube to remove any freezer frost.
- Rub the ice cube under your eyes (or all over your face for ultimate benefits) for about 4-5 minutes.
- Check yourself out in the mirror and brave the day as a new refreshed gal (or guy)!

Great tip Lindsay! And my husband actually will probably love this too. He's always complaining about his dark circles.

ooh this is so easy! My eyes are puffy most mornings (I'm perpetually tired!), so this would be perfect for me!
Love this tip, Lindsay! I like refrigerating my used green tea bags for half an hour and then putting those on my eyelids. :)
Thanks for these tips. Like DMJones76, I too, naturally have hereditary dark circles and this definitely would come in handy! :)
Best,
Cindy
Mix Japanese shoyu soya sauce (rich in vitamin c) with carrot juice (vitamin C and A) and cucumber juice a third of each. Soak cotton pads in this mixture and leave in freezer for ten min then place on eye sockets for 5 minutes…works wonders (recipe in my Natural Skin Care book).
Can also leave remaining liquid soaked cotton pads in the freezer and defrost them for ten minutes for future use.
Conditions skin, is gentle and totally natural with instant results!!!
I tried this the other day and I loved it! I definitely noticed that my skin was so much softer. It also tasted so so good!
Those would make a nice summer snack too
That's great, I want to try this...though home remedies take time and effort but it works so great and it's chemical free. Many of us often searching for the best eye cream for dark circles and puffiness, that are cost effective too. I read lots of Review over online about Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller what do you think is that really a effective solution for dark circle problem?? Do you have any personal experience?
