Ah mom life...Sometimes it's rough and this picture snapped yesterday by my sister just about sums up the past three days (ha). Ronin (my one year old) has also started this new head butting thing when he is mad. Yes, head butting like they do in soccer. What in the world?! I have never heard of a head butting baby, I should google that.
Being a mom is hard. Yes it's awesome, amazing and rewarding but sometimes it's just hard and occasionally you need to hear that other mom's
are going through the exact same thing as you. So if you are having a
rough week (or month) as well...cheers! You are not alone :)

My wise aunt always told me that just when you're about to lose your mind, that stage ends and they move on to something else. As for the head butting, we used to nickname our second son 'Rhino' as he would do that all the time. A random mom in the grocery store told me it's a sign of high intelligence! He's 7 now, totally fine, and just brought home a kickass report card too. So I'm sure all will be well if you can survive this stage. Have a great day.
At about one years old, My Oldest used to hit his head against the wall when he was mad. And my Middle Man hits others when he gets frustrated. It really is such a learning curve and takes so much patience but in the end, they get through the phase, learn to use their words and stop. You are right, Motherhood is hard!
It is one of those weeks - my daughter started drivers ed. and also signed up for college classes she is taking her senior year of high school. We're a little late on the driving thing but my goodness this is not what I signed up for! It's coming way too fast and I'm sure there is a really good ugly cry building up somewhere inside me that will come out at the silliest time possible. lol Being a momma isn't for sissies! It's tough business.
Yup, I too have heard about the head butting. Most do it out of frustration because they can't use their words yet to express how they feel.
Totally agree, with a newborn in our house, my other two children are soooooo.... Intense. But hang in there, this too shall pass (and then there comes another fase(:)
head butting, wow! hang in there momma! you have such a good attitude about it and as i'm sure you already know, this will eventually be over. my 13mo is in a screaming phase; i never know if it's out of happiness or frustration but what i do know is that my brain hurts. lots of wine for the mommas :)
Oh yes! I mean oh no, you too?! My son head butts me when he is mad too. Just put on some Destiny Child and start dancing and singing "I'm a survior, I'm not gonna give up!" You get the drift haha.
You are not alone and thanks for sharing this:)
I'm right there with you momma! I'm delicately balancing the needs of a new two year old and a two month old - most days wine o'clock can't come soon enough!
I have 3 children under the age of 5, and this last week was a rough one as well...I feel you! It is the most rewarding job we will ever have, but it is very hard indeed. God bless you :-)
Thank you for this!! I always feel like it's just me(us). My 21 month old bangs his head on the wall when mad, when he wants attention, or just because and head butts his older brother when he's mad and brother happens to be in his vicinity :( Being a mom is AWESOME and love it, but it is by far the hardest thing i have ever done!! Not to mention my oldest turned 4 in April and with it came all this attitude and talk back..oy!! We are having a relatively good week but that is ever changing :) like some one else stated, thank goodness for wine!! :)
I'm right there with you Lindsay. And with this little boy almost here, I'm heading into the fire of raising TWO little monsters. Adorable yes. But this season of life is very hard I think. I remember talking to my mom about it. She was like: "Yes you were super cute and sweet and cuddly, but yes, I'm glad I'm past that stage now. It was really hard!" Haha. It was actually refreshing to hear that after so many older women are like: "Enjoy this time, every minute is a blessing, etc" And well, no sometimes every minute doesn't feel so good. Ha.
Amen. I have two boys as well--around your boys ages. Love them to pieces but its the HARDEST thing I've ever done. Hang in there. Thank god for wine!
One of mine head butted, the other one went through a biting phase! Nothing like getting a call from preschool because he bit another child arguing for a toy!! Now they are teens and are going through all sorts of other fun phases, but they are always my pride and joy!
We don't have any head butters, but the 7-year old is getting a major attitude now that he's home all day, the 5-year old is learning the art of talking back and the 16-month old stomps and screams when she doesn't get what she wants. This may be a looooong summer break.
Keep it up momma! I am a nanny and today I was thinking, gosh I'm EXHAUSTED and I'm not even with the kids 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So, cheers to moms like you who endure the good and bad ALWAYS (holding up current glass of wine)! And now onto that chocolate mug cake..
hey! My one year old just started doing this too...maybe it's a son-to-a-type-1-diabetic-momma thing, ha ha!
the worst part is, he likes to find his reflection in something, and then head butt THAT too. Boys!

im sorry friend mason does it sometimes... if it makes you feel better we got him up from his nap yesterday and not only him but his whole crib and wall was covered in shit... happy anniversary to us! love and mental wine is sent your way
oh and at least you still look gorg while pissed off... lol... this is you pal Al by the way.
Hahaha about the head butting! I'm sorry but R is hilarious! Such a smart baby.
Motherhood is so hard! Especially when there is teething involved or one of them isn't sleeping well for whatever reason. Sleep helps so much. When I'm not well rested, it ain't pretty.
Hi, I just discovered your blog. Love it. I just had a little boy May 31. I was wondering where you get all the boys cute clothes. Could you please do more outfit of the days of you and the boys? Thanks

My Luke enjoys head butting for no particular reason than a playful gesture. He thinks it's funny and has been doing this since he was 4 or 5 months!
My 1 year old has been head butting since he was 4 or 5 months old! He loves head butting and thinks it's funny, I worry about his little skull.
