Have you heard of this site yet? It's awesome. You type in a book you recently read and loved and it will give you a whole list of similar books that you might like. Brilliant right?
I recently mentioned that I wanted to spend more time reading and less time watching TV and after finishing Gone Girl in 3 days I realized I was craving more. I would stay up late with my little flashlight app and read until my eyes were sore and I could no longer keep them open. I even brought it with me to the gym and picked a good stationary bike so I could finish it in semi peace. It was SO GOOD. Thank you to those of you who recommended it. And I am dying to know what the end really meant. I need a part two!
I am headed back to the bookstore this week to pick up something new and I would love to hear what your latest recommendations are... I am open to anything.

I just finished The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald) for the first time (I was never required to read it in school, which is apparently horrible), and it was pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how it does as a movie (which is the reason I checked it out from the library).
I love reading too! Check out if your public library has an app. My library does and I am able to check out books from the library on my phone. It is great for when you are on the go, or for those late night feedings. :) Plus it is free, so then you don't feel as bad when you finish a $20 book in three days!
Have you read Gillian Flynn's other books? Sharp Objects and Dark Places? Both just as good as Gone Girl!!!
Thanks for sharing, I'm off to check it out now! :)
I agree with the above comment. Gillian Flynns other books are great too. I just finished Dark Places. It was great. Before I Go To Sleep, by S.J Watson is a good suspense book too if you like Gone Girl.
Oh I LOVED Gone Girl!! After I read it I kept looking for another book like it that I couldn't put down :) Angel of the Dark by Tilly Bagshawe was AWESOME! It's a book based on material Sidney Sheldon had in his archives....it's fantastic. Total page turner :)

migh I suggest finding a local used bookstore to support versusthe big corporations?
Earthing! Its a book about the newest and most recent health findings of how healing the Earth is a society that is so disconnected from their roots. It discusses how being barefoot on the Earth has major health effects and why more and more diseases have come into our generations than ever before, how Earthing impacts pain, health, etc! Super interesting, I have read the whole book in a few days as well...I am sure you would like it!
Earthing! Its all about how disconnected we are as humans now and the healing properties of the Earth (and connecting to it barefoot as much as possible) and its impact on our pain level, stress, overall health! Super interesting, I have been reading it for three days now and I am about done! I feel like this kind of book is right up your alley!
I have been neglecting my books lately and have been catching up on tons of Downton Abbey. So addicting. But I think the ending of Gone Girl is sort of insinuating a type of deranged existence. I mean it sort of highlights just how psychotic Amy really is. Makes you wonder how many people are out there functioning like her. Creepy.
What did you think of the ending? I was on the plane back from Germany and read the entire book start to finish! Could not put it down, but the ending made me mad!! What did you think?
I love your blog, by the way, and your cute little family warms my heart!!
One of my favorites is The Pilots Wife by Anita Shreve... It is one of those that you can NOT put down!! Super good.
My all time favorite, though, is Gone with the Wind. All time 2 thumbs up awesomeness! Just really long.......
I had a love/hate relationship with Gone Girl. I loved it and couldn't put it down, but yet didn't really "like" any of the characters if that makes sense?! I just started reading The Midnight Circus for my book club and it is pretty good...took me awhile to get into it, but once I did I can't put it down now.
The book thief, silver linings play book, the rent collector, the fault in our stars ( I think this one you should def read)
I just finished 'Still Missing' by Beth Gutcheon and it was one of those 'stay up all night' books- definitely put it on your list!
I too loved Gone Girl and was afraid to start something new for fear of losing the vibe I was feeling. But I picked up Lisa Genova's Love Anthony and couldn't put it down. Not a thriller but a beautiful story and made me want to visit Nantucket Island!
Loved Gone Girl. I just read the Handmaid's Tale and LOVED it. Very interesting read.
I'll have to check out that website as I am always looking for new books to read.
I recommend Gillian Flynn's other two books (although they're a bit darker), as well as Where'd You Go, Bernadette?--a much sweeter, funnier story about a missing woman. I'm also reading Born to Run and re-reading LotR. :)
Also must recommend The Geography of Bliss (nonfiction) and The Violets of March (a sweet mystery that takes place in the PNW).
Thanks for the site recommendation!!! I actually haven't read a book in ages, so this site will come in handy! xoxo
You should DEF read The Age of Miracles (one of my new favs), have you read The Help? I am currently reading The Obituary Writer, and it's a really really fantastic story. I also loved The Memory Keeper's Daughter, anything by Jennifer Haigh, anything by Jennifer Weiner...The Family Fang was amazing, so was Tell The Wolves I'm Home...I use GoodReads for a lot of suggestions, as well as browsing the library!
Amazing thank you friend!!
I'm almost finished "Where'd You Go Bernadette" and I cannot put it down! It is funny/different and I really like it. Also, The House Girl and The Last Runaway were two books I recently read and enjoyed. Gone Girl was hard to put down - glad you liked it!
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton is one of my favorites
Both of Flynn's other two books are great as well!
I just finishes readying Gone Girl today as well! such an open ending, makes you wonder. So dark and twisted. thanks for suggesting this site, I'm heading over there right now.
Night circus is really good! I like reading the same type of books and this had me addicted more than gone girl!
How about the Bible? I started reading it at 38 years of age and my eyes were opened to the truth about life, myself, God and many other things. The gospel of John is a good place to start.
Gone Girl is on my reading list for sure… I keep meaning to get to it, but other books keep getting in the way.
