Women tend to show signs of aging on their hands first. Brown sun spots and tiny wrinkles are a dead giveaway that you may have spent too many days in the sun neglecting your hands. Living and working in Southern California I have seen this too often. I see women with beautiful faces and skin but their hands look like they are approaching 50.
It is never to late to start protecting your hands. My suggestion is to never leave the house without wearing at least an SPF 15 moisturizer or sunscreen on your hands, even in the winter.
Simple but so important!

Oh yes! I do this every single day.
I've actually never thought of this before! But I definitely want to start doing this now.
I don't ever think about protecting my hands! I need to do better with this! I love when grandmas have cute wrinkles on their hands but I'm not trying to get those before I'm like 70!
Such a hard thing to remember for sure - I need to just keep some in my purse!

my hands are like this. so sad :( i wish i could go back in time. i also have heard the light the nail salons use to set your polish has harmful rays and you should wear skin protection.
I just recently started noticing how bad mine look, while I always use lotion, I never really thought to use one with sunscreen. Thanks for the tip!!
I love to have soft hands, but in the winter it is so hard! Usually I use Aquaphor for hands and I think that it is the strongest thing out there. But no sun protection!
Living in SoFla, this is huge for me! :( I'm very fair and freckle-y! :) I need to do this, but seems my main problem is that I wash my hands sooooo much (out of need...not obsession (ha!)...various household things, handling the puppy...and kids!, sewing, etc.) and my hands are so so soooooo dry. Argh.
Thanks for the reminder. Old-lady hands on a young-lady body = no thank you.
Yes. I usually put lotion on my body especially my hands everyday.

My hands are so overlooked! Right now they look dry and 10 years older than I am! I never put sunscreen on them either...thanks for the tip!

This is such a great tip!
it's totally true! Especially in the winter I see my hands cracking and getting super dry. Thank goodness for some good lotion and moisturizer.
Lovely Little Rants
Something I ALWAYS forget to do. Thanks for the reminder! :)
I'm obsessed with putting lotion on my dry hands, but I should start adding SPF. Thanks for the reminder!
I have it in my daily moisturizer. It's such an easy tip to do everyday. Thanks for sharing, friend!
Such a great tip! I guess now that I think of it I do usually neglect my hands, I think it is because I hate the feeling of lotion on them! Got any suggestions for a hand lotion?
I wish I could find the right lotion for my hands.. I'm still working on it!
I always have a little bit of moisturizer left on my hands after I do my face, so I rub it in, almost like a hand cream. I won't know the effects for a long time, but every little bit helps, right?

The Body Shop has a great Hand Scrub, or I make one on my own, but exfoliating the hands is important too!!!
I feel convicted right now....a good thing!! Thanks for sharing love!
great, GREAT tip! :)
I do this, this is the one thing so far I do ha. Woohoo.
Happy Monday gorgeous!
such great advice...
Yes! I put on hand lotion constantly, but I need to start using one with SPF in it. Why doesn't all lotion have some kind of SPF in it yet? It seems like this needs to be done already. As well as SPF in hair products.
I've got that covered...it's too darn cold here to bare my hands. I will remember to slather some SPF...
:D
Yes, this is so important!!! I usually wear L'Occitane hand lotion (my favorite) but I don't think it has SPF protection,do you have any favorite you'd like to share?
Hillary and Gaby- I love DeVita's Solar Body Block

I also love Neutrogena's oil free moisturizer. You can use your regular hand lotion and then massage your sunscreen on top before you leave the house.
you are right so important! thanks lindsay for making sure we take good care of our skin!
This is probably one of the few skin care things I do stick too! I've been using spf 15 moisterizer on my face since I was a teen and always slather the extra over my hands after every application. Yay! Now I feel better about myself that I actually do one thing correctly..LOL
Wait a minute! Did this post idea come to you after we had lunch the other day? It is genetic, wrinkled dry hands, you just didn't get the bad gene lol. Aunt Traci and I both got it,lucky us two. I am 50 but my hands look 80 haha
I live in Colorado, so I REALLY agree with this post! We are closer to the sun AND it is super dry here. It gives me a great excuse not to hand wash dishes :)
