I was so excited to try out this pin that originally came from a blog called 320 Sycamore.
I spend way too much money on granite cleaner and nothing seems to really work. I am always left with a greasy film-y covered looking counter top with store bought products. When I read that you can make your own homemade granite and counter top cleaner using only rubbing alcohol, dish soap and essential oil I knew I needed to test it out.
All you do is fill an empty spray bottle with about 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, a few drops of dish soap, a few drops of essential oil (I used lavender) and the rest with water. Shake it up and it's all ready!
Final verdict: I LOVED this! It made my kitchen smell clean and had my counter tops shiny in no time flat. I am so excited since this homemade version costs a whole lot less than what I was buying before. I am a happy camper for sure!
Have you tested out any pins lately?

Fantastic!
I tried out a recipe I had found on pinterest last night and it was delish. You can definitely find some goodies on there!
Hi Lindsay1 i have just discovered your beautiful blog as I read a comment you left on A Cup of Jo :-) I have my own recipe thatis very similar to this one ...just try to replace the dish soap with white wine vinegar. It becomes something 100% natural you can use for the whole kitchen and it's kids and animals free. As you do not need to rinse it it's so fast to use and smells good too.
Awesome! Now if only I had granite. :)
I'm glad to know this worked out for you! We're planning on putting in granite countertops whenever we buy a house so I would definitely rather use this than the store stuff!
Did I mention that I love this series? Good to know that some of those pinning tips really do work!
Neat! I'm going to share this with a few people I know who have granite and would love the best cleaner possible.

Great tip!! Thanks a bunch!!
I use this product for everything, inox, plastic, the fridge, the oven, the sink...it goes for all kinds of materials except real marble and wood.
Ooh I must try this! I bought some Method stuff from Target that works pretty good..but I'm definitely gonna give this a go!
Thanks!
Jenna
OH this is great! Cleaning granite is the worst...and we're getting low on the store-bought kind, so I will definitely try this soon! :)
Oooh, good to know this works! I tried one yesterday--a bit of hydrogen peroxide, a bit of baking soda (to make a thin paste) is supposed to clean most anything (the pin shows a nice clean jelly roll pan)! I actually used it on a silver bowl that I (stupidly) put in the dishwasher; it was terribly tarnished and I tried other things to no avail. I thought it was forever ugly. It's now beautiful and shiny again--super exciting!!!
OH, this I NEED to try! Cleaning products are expensive! Especially if you want the eco friendly kind. And yeah, I have the same issue with my granite, and it's black so I feel like everything sticks out more. Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome! If I had granite I would try it. hehe....Pinterest rocks!
xo
How cool that it worked and it will save you money! I love Pinterest!
I went to pin it for later and saw that you got the pin from me..HAHA Now that you tried it, I am going to make me up a bottle!
I finally joined the guilty pinterest
I just made it & love this recipe for my granite countertops! My kitchen smells like lavender & my counters have no streaks & are clean! Thank you ;-)
Just tried it. My granite shines and the kitchen smells great!
Does rubbing alcohol is safe on granite? I hope it will work for me.
Oh, cool! I will try it as soon as I can! I also hope that rubbing alcohol is safe on granite! I really like these homemade green products for cleaning! They are safe, non-allergenic and free of chemical odor! When I was young I didn't care about this, but now, as a mother of two handsome boys I want to keep them away of products harming their health. Greetings!
WOW, this I have to try out! Cleanup items cost a lot! Specially if you need the actual green sort. As well as yeah, We have a similar difficulty together with our marble, and african american so i think that every thing stands apart a lot more. Appreciate it regarding revealing! countertops seattle
