I am not gonna pretend like I did this ALL by myself. My husband told me he did not "trust me with his power tools (lame)," so he helped cut the wood and drill the holes. I think I need my own girl set of tools.
What you will need:
- A piece of wood cut about 14 inches long
- 4 knobs. I got mine at World Market
- A drill
- A sawtooth (to hang it up on a wall)
- Paint brush and paint (optional- only if you want to paint it)
Drill 4 holes into the wood. If your man is protective of his tools (like mine) let him do it so he can feel like he was apart of your diy ;)
Paint your necklace hanger (optional) and let dry.
Attach the sawtooth on the back. Screw in the knobs. I realized they stuck out the back a little too far so I had my husband (okay I actually DID need him for this part...I like my fingers) use a power saw to remove the extra backing of the knob.
Attach your necklaces and hang up in your closet or wherever you like! Such an easy and inexpensive way to display your necklaces.

Lindsay! How adorable...so funny he would let you drill. Mine would do the same. Whatevs.
This looks awesome. World Market is the best! I have to do something like this because my necklaces are always a tangled mess.
I have something very similar that I've used to hang necklaces as well as purses! I think it's a wonderful idea and love that it's something that can be done on our own! :)
super cute! Love this! We redid and old dresser and I still need to put new knobs on them! One day.. one day.
cute! love the knobs!
Very cute! I'm ashamed to admit it but I'd be quite happy to relinquish use of power tools to a guy. I have one of those wildly overactive imaginations and every time I have to drill a hole I get technicolor visions of accidents I could have (I'm going to slip and drill through my arm, I'm going to put it through an electrical wire, the dog is going to jump over the baby gate while I'm not looking and I'll accidentally stab him). It's ludicrous but I feel nauseous until I can unplug it...
Look at you all DIY...well kinda. I bet you could of drilled those holes yourself, maybe next time he can supervise and let you try it. I love that Etsy shop too! Your necklace holder is super cute, great job.
LOVE it! Looks like an easy enough DIY! But I can imagine that my dad will have the same reaction to me using his power tools.. ha!
Oh this is a such a great idea.

It's so amazing how difficult things look/sound before one tries them. This looks pretty straight forward and the end result is amazing! What a great idea. Thanks for sharing x
I've seen those knobs at World Market a thousand times and have wanted to make a similar rack for my scarves! Yours turned out so pretty with your necklaces! I'm pretty sure my husband would be protective of his tools too!
Very creative...I love this! Thank you for inspiring me to get my DIY on.
So strange, I was just thinking about doing this the other day, but with bigger doorknobs and bracelets! Very cool idea.
Very cute, Lindsay! A friend of mine has an enlarged version of this using door knobs for a coat rack!
this is genius. I saw some gorgeous knobs on sale at Anthropologie and now I know what I could use them for!
And such a pretty way to show off your pretty baubles! Lovely lovely.

Oh THANK YOU! I actually saw a picture of this on a while back and have been meaning to make it for a while now. I even bought the knobs at Hobby Lobby when they were half off. And that's as far as I've gotten. :) Seeing this now assures me that I can easily do it myself. Thanks again!!
I AM soooo doing this!!!! And yeah I wouldn't dare mess with the power tools. I'd be dead if something happened.
