3 Ingredient Peach Cobbler

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Do you ever pretend like a recipe takes a lot more work and effort than it really does? Or am I the only weirdo who does this?

I have been making this "secret" peach cobbler ever since Ian and I got married. Ian thinks its the best homemade thing in the world.

I always make sure to make it when he's not home and throw away all the evidence deep in the trash ( cake mix box). He has asked so many times whats in it and I always respond with, "It a secret." Well today I am going to share the simplest peach cobbler recipe ever!

What you need:
  • 2 cans of peaches in light syrup
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick of butter

Directions:
  • Pour peaches into an oven safe dish
  • Add entire bag of yellow cake mix and spread on top.
  • Melt one stick of butter and pour evenly on the top of the cake mix.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until top is golden brown.
*okay so this is not the healthiest recipe... but every once in a while who cares! Its worth it :)

If you make this I highly recommend you give it away to as many friends as you can...unless you have willpower to not eat the entire pan of it yourself, which I don't.

LOVE this! I've never used butter in my recipes. We use sprite instead of most of the peach juice sometimes. :)

What a SMART idea! Love little shortcuts like that and no one is the wiser. I did that recently for cupcakes (store bought mix) but homemade frosting...everyone loved them and would have have never known the difference!

Funny you posted this, my husband is making almost the same thing tonight but in a dutch oven (I guess it's for a merit-badge that his scout troop is trying to sign off). The only difference is that he uses Sprite instead of butter (i'm a little skeptical)...but if he has any left over I will let you know how it tastes!

YUM!!! I loveeee acting like recipes are much harder than they actually are, just to get a little extra oohs and ahhs haha. This looks so good! And a great end of summer/ early fall dish - I can't get enough of cobblers!

Love it! In Texas we call this a Dump Cake and usually make it with a cherry and pineapple combo. It is referred to as a dump cake simple because things are dumped n the dish in layers and then baked. I'll have to try it with peaches this time!

Yummy! Made it before and it is gooood!

I loved this recipe but it came out terrible for me. I accidentally made it like a cake with adding water eggs and oil to the cake batter. I should have just used the cake batter and not the other ingredients. I will hopefully try this recipe again though.

I didn't have a yellow cake mix, I only had a butter pecan,i got it in the oven now. got my fingers crossed hope it turns out good still
