I believe there are better more natural remedies that can give you longer lasting results.
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar - The only vinegar that can and should be consumed daily.
Benefits:
- Helps clear acne when taken orally and applied topically. If applied topically you dilute it with water, dab it on a breakout and rinse after 15 minutes. If you have any questions about this or would like me to explain it further you can email me.
- Promotes digestion. A blocked digestive tract can lead to all kinds of skin problems. It is also a natural cure for constipation.
- Super high in minerals and potassium which can help slow down the aging of your skin.
- Helps reduce sinus infections and sore throats. Whenever we have a cold coming on this is what I have Ian and I overdose on.
- Encourages the growth of healthy bacteria within your body.
- Can help ease menstrual cramps.
- It has been used for centuries as a natural weight loss remedy.
When purchasing apple cider vinegar make sure that its says "Raw" and "Unfiltered." This is very important.
I really encourage everyone to drink at least 2-4 tablespoons mixed with water daily! You can also add a tablespoon of organic honey or stevia if it tastes too bitter for you.

Its given me my confidence back so thank you MILLIONS.

You are now my skin guru. The end. I'm heading the store as soon as I'm done with work to find this! Do you think Whole Foods would have it? I'm heading out of town tomorrow or I'd have more time to go down to one of the fruit farms and ask there.
love your blog!
i'm a new follower, hopefully you can check out my blog and follow too :)
Elizabeth- Yes they would def have it!
Cute blog, I follow you :)
I love apple cider vinegar. I used it as a diet for a while. I heard it can be bad for your teeth enamel? Is that true?
Jenna Lee- Yes this is true that is why you always want to dilute it with water...and make sure you don't swish it around in your mouth :)
Hi Lindsay! Thank you so much for the comment you left on my blog... I'm so happy to discover yours! I think it's gonna be my beauty bible! :)
Unfortunately I've never seen this Apple cider vinegar here in Italy.. But I'll add it to my shopping list when I'll come to the States...

I am so excited to try this! Unless I'm on birth control my face is definitely not as clear as I would like it to be, and I love the idea of using natural products to clear up my acne!
my aunt is a fan of this stuff lindsay, very good stuff she says i have never tried but maybe i will have to now... going over to enter your giveaway now :-)
So interesting ... didn't know any of this! As a gal with problem skin, I would give this a try :)
Thanks!

That's fascinating. I have some in my frig right now. Will the hubs look at me like I'm crazy if I pull it out? Let's see...
Hmmm, this seems so interesting. & my mom uses this stuff anyway, so I have some on hand. I'm giving it a try!!!! :D Thanks, Lindsay!
Wow, sounds like it works miracles! I had no idea, thanks for the tip :)
my mom uses vinegar for everything! have a stain use vinegar. have a blemish use some vinegar. :)
woot woot! you know i love my acv. glad to see you feature it.
Ah I hate the smell of vinegar! But I am going to try this because I already have this on hand and love all of the benefits you've listed!
I am going to try this - I love all of your tips! Thank you so much!
Jo-Anna
i love your posts!! i am gonna try this one!
I've always used apple cider vinegar when I get sinus infections (which tends to be twice a year during allergy seasons). Nice to know it has so many other benefits as well. Do you know if it's safe to use during pregnancy?
I think you are my new best friend :)
That is so interesting! Thanks for sharing!!
i love these tips and tricks of yours! thank you so much!
I will have to try this out. For some reason I don't know if it's due to aging but I'm sure it is I have been breaking out and I hate it. I think I ma try this out over the weekend.
Jackie
Anna- I would double check with your doctor just to be on the safe side but everything I have read and researched says it is perfectly safe. I used it when I was pregnant with my son to help with acid reflux and it's pretty amazing how well it worked.
Wow, I'm definitely going to start doing this! I've actually been sick with a sore throat for FOUR days.. maybe this will help a little! *fingers crossed!* Thanks!
My mother in law has been doing this for years and swears by it. I am going to have to give it a try! :)
Seriously?! I continue to be amazed by the powers of vinegar. I wish I hadn't just gone to the grocery. I so appreciate all of your tips--they are invaluable!
I am totally going to try this! I could use help some help with the cramps situation.
I really love reading your advice! I think skin is so important and often neglected. I am looking forward to trying Apple Cider Vinegar out, it sounds amazing!!
<3
I have a bottle that is White House brand and says Apple Cider Vinegar...nothing about being raw and unfiltered...what is the difference? Can I just use this kind or should I go looking for the raw kind? ~ Lisa
Thanks for the tip - you learn something new every day!

The Perfect Palette
OOooOooh, I always wondered about Apple Cider Vinegar! I've got distinctly non-glowy skin so I'm always on the hunt for nice things to do for my epidermis. Sounds like this goes above and beyond the call of skin though! Again I have to ask... if this promotes non-constipation, does it promote bloat? In a similar fashion to highly fibrous foods? My tummy is a picky, delicate kitty or something.
Secondly, you left a comment on my blog saying you'd like the recipe of my aunt's zucchini pasta. I answered you there (on my blog) but I never know if people check back and get it so I'll say the same here: That's it! It's just raw, uncooked zucchini, sliced real thin with warm marinara sauce on top. Mmmmm..
Lastly, I thought you should know that this AMAZING blog of yours inspired me to start the illustrate-a-random-fact-once-a-week section. I love how you share your expertise and I wanted to make my blog a place of learning too... I credited you here: http://gloriouslyarranged.blogspot.com/2011/07/tuesday-tidbit-brain-droppings.html
This takes me back as my mum used to take this religiously as a kid. I'm going to give it a go. I have that same apple cider vinegar in the pantry.
Lisa- In order for you to recieve the full health benefits it needs to be raw and unfiltered. If is is..it will say it right on the label :)
If this is what makes you look that gorg, I will certainly try it.
You know Lindsay, I can vaguely remember something about this when I was younger. Mum was always trying to shove it down our throats and we hated it. I might have to revisit it. I need all the help I can get!
Great tip!
Anne xx
This is such a great tip! I will definitely be trying it. I, too, am hugely wary of prescription solutions for acne (the last time I went to the dermatologist I was given antibiotics, which provided a temporary fix, but as soon as I stopped taking them my acne returned). I'll be looking for this next time I'm at the store.
great tip! thanks for sharing
Well, I learn new things everyday on here! I absolutely love reading all the tips you post. Amazing, my friend!
This is awesome! My mom drinks apple cider vinegar tea on a daily basis and swears by it. I drink it every once in a while, but now that I've read this I'm gonna make it a goal to drink it daily. I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I do drink it.
Thanks for sharing this!!
Talk about learning something new! This is one tip I have never heard of before. I definately want to give this a try. Too bad I didn't know about its benefits last week I am just now getting over a bad head cold that developed over the weekend. I'd love to see a snapshot of your food journal someday. I swear from the kale smoothie to this you have so many great tips.
Awesome tip--thanks girl! My friend did something similar just the other night for a sinus infection and he said it really helped that too! I heart natural remedies!
My grandpa had apple cider vinegar EVERY SINGLE DAY and SWORE by it!! But I have yet to try it! I love your tips though and thanks so much for sharing them with everyone!
i mean, seriously. this is SO cool!! i will totally benefit from this, thanks soo much darling!
this is amazing. I genuinely JUST picked this up at the store today. I am so excited to start doing just that! great tip, love natural answers! xo
I've heard so much about Apple Cider Vinegar but never really knew about the benefits. I'm curious now! Do they sell it at Trader Joes?
i am happy to say that i am a bragg's lover... apple cider vinegar & liquid aminos are a staple in my cupboards! i do admit, though that i need to be better about getting on the apple cider daily regimen...thanks for sharing all of the great info, as always! xoxoxo brynn
I didn't know this. I'll have to try it sometime! You always share the best tips!
oh yeah! We drink this to detox, and it's dong so much for my son jared, he used to be rolling on the floor in pain because of constipation, now as soon as he finishes a glass of ACV, he's off to the bathroom. We use Eden brand also raw vinegar. Thanks for sharing!

Wow have to try this! Where do you find this particular brand at? Thanks for sharing!
Lauren- I buy it from our local health food store. You can find it at Whole Foods, Sprouts etc.. :)
thanks for stopping by my blog! this is a neat tip. Do you know if it dries your skin out at all? I have both acne prone and dry skin. Such a convenient combination...
kristen
www.summersetsin.blogspot.com
Kristen- if you are using it for acne only use it as a spot treatment where you are broken out. Leave on for 15 min, rinse and apply a moisturizer following. You may even see more benefits if you drink it though!
Thanks for sharing! I've heard that apple cider vinegar is good for you, but a lot of these specific benefits were new to me.
I have some of this in my pantry! I had no idea it was used for anything besides making my homemade barbecue sauce!! I'll definitely have to try that. You're so smart girl!
Lindsay! First of all, thanks for your sweet words on my blog. I LOVE being introduced to other bloggers...and this space certainly did not disappoint! I think I'm going to sit and look around for a little while :)
Second of all, I love this post. I have been singing the benefits of vinegar for about a year now. I became a believer when I found out it is next to magic for any need you might need in the home...and otherwise. I gotta admit though, I didn't know this about Apple Cider Vinegar. Excited to try it out. Why the 'raw' and 'unfiltered'?
Whew. Now that was a long comment..
Cynthia- In order to receive the full medicinal benefits it needs to be raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar...otherwise it would be just plain ole vinegar which will not give you the same benefits.
Wow! I had no clue about its health benefits. I will definitely look out for it, but it's quite hard to find here in Italy. I wonder if I might have to look at a health store for it.
Thanks Lindsay! Now your latest follower! Hope you will follow me back!

Thanks for the tip Lindsay! I've never heard of that before. Can you just take it like a shot? Ya know, if I don't like the taste and don't want to drink a whole glass of it diluted in water?
I love apple cider vinegar. I always use it for my stomach if I get a belly ache. :)
I've never tried this but will def give it a shot. Have you ever tried juicing for your skin (along with better over-all health)? I swear buy it!
My mother swears by this stuff. It is supposed to really help you loose weight too!
New follower from the Wandering Wednesday Blog Hop. Hope you can hop on over to http://picklejarsandpears.blogspot.com
Hey Linds!
Just started this tonight. Probably too late since my wedding is in 21 days but it's worth a shot right?!
Love your blog by the way!
Jess
Oops it's in 11 days! Haha
I have this stuff in my pantry- I purchase it for a mix for mask. Can I mix it with my morning smoothie?
I just hate the smell and I'm guessing it taste yucky--LOL
Love your blog- I just came upon it!
Kelly

I love your blog! I was excited to try this but even after putting it in water and adding honey I still couldnt drink it lol any other suggestions :)
Yes! Mix it with a tiny bit of apple or grape juice. If using apple add a dash or two of cinnamon and stevia and it makes it much more bearable ;)
OMG much better THANK YOU lol I also did the pumpkin mask last night and looooved it!
hey i was just wondering how much you have to dilute the ACV before you put it on topically and before drinking it.
I'm trying this now [and like everyone else, I am noting all of your fantastic skin tips and tricks]. It's a little hard to stomach, but I'm chanting "It's beer, it's beer, it's beer..." in the hopes that it will clear my skin up.
Also, thanks to you, I purchased some chia seeds As a vegetarian, I know I'm lacking some things in my diet, and that stuff is miraculous. Thank you so much for your informative blog!!!
I was just wondering... how much you delute the vinegar before putting on your face? Love your blog! :)
For those of you who would like to know how you can use it topically to treat acne:
Dilute 1 part apple cider vinegar with 3 or 4 parts water. Using a clean cotton ball or q-tip dab the solution onto the affected area and leave on for about 10 minutes then rinse off. This should be repeated 3 times a day until the acne clears. For more severe cases you may either leave this ratio solution on overnight and rinse off in the morning. If after doing a test spot on your skin you feel like you can handle full strength then you can try that...but full strength NEEDS to be rinsed off. Keep me posted on how it works for you!
Lindsay,
I just found you thanks to Pinterest, I am in my 30's and have developed cystic acne. I've been drinking Get Gorgeous tea and Yogi Skin detox tea 3 times/day and that has been helping but I will add this ACV to my daily regemin. Do you take 4 tbls in one glass of water once a day?
Thanks!
Hi,
I stumbled onto your blog via this post on pinterest. Ever looking for holistic options, I was drawn to it immediately. Then I was drawn to your blog! I, too, am an esthetician, a lover of crafty things, a baker and "gardener", follow a low carb lifestyle due to health reasons, and I believe we may even share common religious beliefs, so it was so fun, to not only read the contents of the blog, but get to know you as well.
I am thinking about attending a nutritional school (and nursing school, too), so I may gain this information fromt the former... however, I have a question for you, as I'm not currently practicing esthetics (in the process of starting up a at home business), nor do I attend enough seminars: my skin retains color from sun exposure (years past even, and discoloration from "healed" acne) so do you think this vinegar drink will help my skin in regards to that concern?
Thanks much,
Heather
Heather- Sounds like we have so much in common! So glad that you stopped by to comment. Good for you for wanting to attend nutritional school. I think that's wonderful.
Apple Cider vinegar is such an amazing topical solution with TONS of benefits when applied topically. It is rich in AHA's which CAN help lighten discoloration. I am doing a full post on this tomorrow so stay tuned :)
I usually say I'm going to try something and then never get around to it....but THIS I have to try!!! Hold me to it! ;)
You are awesome for sharing this!!! Do they sell it by the gallon? Lol.
This is amazing! I've never heard of someone drinking it every day, but I have read that is helps with sinus infections. I get quite a few sinus infection in the spring time and I drank some diluted in water once and it surprisingly help quite a bit. I hate antibiotics too, so anything to not require taking them, I'm all up for!
Hi Lindsay, I have heard this for years and I have tried plain apple cider vinegar but it sounds like that is pointless. I recently developed rocacea (depressing) but I dont want to take antibiotics. Do you think ACV could make a difference? Do you have any suggestions for rosacea?
Ps: i found you on pintrest and ill be keeping up from now on!
Wowwwwwwwzers!!!.I just drank the 4tbsp in water. I have to say I really forced myself knowing I am "doing good" for my body (and face!!!). That is some strong stuff. I think it could knock a horse down! Lol. Doesn't matter. I'm stickin' to it. Think I should've started off slow???
Ok, I have tried this (after reading your post) and cant stand the taste, even with splenda. Can I mix it with a small amount of water and take it like a shot (wow I sould like my college days) or does it need to be diluted more?
I drink this everyday! My husband had SEVERE acid reflux and I had him try it. He SWEARS by it now! He was at the point of considering surgery to help the reflux and ACV has stopped his issues! He isn't quick to recommend anything but he tells EVERYONE about ACV. He even carries a bottle in his bag when he travels.
ACV will also help dissolve kidney stones if you are prone to them.
I tried to email privately but the contact button seems to be on the fritz. I am so happy I found your blog, you have so many great posts! I wanted to ask your advice on something that may apply to many; I recently went off birth control and my skin is suffering terribly. Can you give any advice in balancing hormonal acne? I am 28 and haven't had clear skin in over 20 years so there are certainly underlying factors as well. Thanks so much for sharing your secrets!
Make your own Raw ACV with the mother at home easily! DIY instructions here: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/07/make-raw-apple-cider-vinegar-acv-with.html
Can you drink it while you are pregnant?
can you drink this vinegar while pregnant?
For the ladies with skin problems (or even without)- use this as your toner! Get a little spray bottle from target, put a teaspoon of raw ACV in the bottle and fill the rest with water. Spray after cleansing and before moisturizing! It's a little tingly, but that goes away quickly.
Also, raw organic honey makes a great cleanser (it's a natural anti=bacterial, so great for acne!), and the best moisturizer in the WORLD, is coconut oil. it's almost like a dry oil, so it's ok even for oily skin!
ACV is also THE best hair conditioner/detangler. 1 tablespoon diluted with about 6-8 ounces of water. Don't rinse.
Where can i find raw acv besides online? i do not have a whole foods nearby....

I found braggs raw apple cider vinegar in the organic section of Kroger. I added a couple of tablespoons of apple cider, some grated ginger and a tablespoon or so of real maple syrup to a couple of tablespoons of the vinegar and 2 cups of cold filtered water. Very energizing!
Hi Lindsay,
I just now found this info and I'm very interested in doing it.
I have rocacea and I want to know if this will help? It used to be cut to have rosy cheeks when I was younger but now that I'm 50...not so cute! Please help! Tessalfm@gmail.com
Another person also ask you but I haven't seen any reply.

Hi Tessa- to be honest I am not sure. You can always do a small test spot on your jawline and see how your skin reacts. Since everyone's skin is different it is difficult for me to give individual skin consults/suggestions since I can not "see"your skin in person.
As far as treating Rosacea I may do a whole post on this. But looks for products containing horse chestnut and sulfur- both are very effective in calming and suppressing the symptoms.
My husband has been on insulin for 29 years. He takes lots of suppliments and has had minimum problems from the diabetes. I started taking apple cider vinegar this summer for ammune problem. I told my husband and he started taking 1T per day. Immediately, he had to reduce the amount of insulin that he takes. I think it is good for lots of things and I recommend that everyone take it for inner cleansing.
Picked up all ingredients today and almost threw up in my mouth when I opened the vinegar. Really hesitant about the first sip but I've been diligent in drinking cucumber, lemon and mint water so I thought I would give this one a try. Surprisingly, it had a pleasant taste. I'm hoping for digestive success. Thanks for sharing
Can I use the white house brand of apple cider vinegar even tho it doesn't say raw but it does say all natural from fresh apples to detox my system?
Anonymous- In order for you to receive all the benefits it needs to be raw, organic and unfiltered. That is very important.
I will be following your posts as well. Thanks for the tip. Realtor Lulu
I found "unfiltered, organic" apple cider vinegar at Trader Joes, but it doesn't say 'raw.' Do you think it's fine?
Hi, thanks for all of the great ideas you share. I would like to try this for my two year old who was just diagnosed with type one. You drink with one meal each day and then prior to bed? Thanks so much.
Love your site! Getting organic ACV tomorrow and will be drinking the elixir daily, plus 2TB before each meal as part of my weight loss and health program. One question: I'm scheduled for a complete hysterectomy in June, due to very high estrogen levels. Do you have any info on your site that may help be lower that, and skip the surgery? I'm thinking the ACV will be a definite help. NOTE: I'm not asking for any medical info, just if you've maybe heard rumors about something. I'll do the research! (PS: I have over 100 pounds to use, and your Elixir and Black Seed are my top 2 jump-starters. I'll be using both for at least 3 months, until my next A1C/diabetes checkup. I'm very much hoping I'll eventually be able to stop those meds... and save that money every month for new clothes! If you'd like, I'd be glad to check in every now and then and let you know how the ACV and Black Seed are working for me. Thanks so much for all your great info!!
Thank you so much for your post. I would love to try this for my daughter is has terrible problems with her bladder. It causes her a lot of pain and causes her to have incontinence. She has been suffering with since she was 15 years old. She also has a difficult time with her stomach. Her track seems to get so backed up that it is so painful for her. Would the acid in the ACV be to hard on her bladder, since acidy foods play havoc on her bladder. Thank you so much for your information.
how much water must I use with he 4 tbspoons of acv? I usually drink anywhere from 64 to 96 oz of water a day. I'm diabetic and take pills.
if you get sores in your mouth from too much citrus fruits (huge problem I have in the winter!) you can swish cider vinegar in your mouth then spit out and it will help heal them faster
Just curious to know if you still drink this daily? I started a few days ago, using 2 cap fulls in about 8 oz of water and haven't seen results yet. I assume it can take a few weeks though...
Can i add the 4 tablespoon to fresh fruit juice?
i made one batch....before drinking i did not have thorat irritation after wards i had the heartburn...i was wondering can i cut down on the vinegar would it affect ....and how many times a day do we have to drink this
Been using raw ACV for a long time now. I drink at least 2 Tbsp daily, use it topically, and use it as a hair rinse in the shower. I literally haven't been sick or had a fever in 7 years! I love this stuff!
Will the whitehouse brand work as well I can't find Bragg's anywhere in my area
