Vintage ice cream maker SCREAM!!! $8
I am dreaming about all the homemade ice cream that I am going to make over the summer! I got home and thought "PLEASE WORK".....I plugged it in..turned it on... the motor hummed PERFECTLY and and it is ready to do some serious ice cream making.

Thrifting Tip:
If you are a frequent thrifter, learn the employees names and say hello. Be sweet. Be sincere. There is the nicest man named Patrick (who is missing a few teeth) at the Salvation Army. I have made it a point to get to know him. Not only will they appreciate this but they will remember YOU and just might give you a "special" price because you went out of your way to say hello. Give it a try next time you go.

I love looking at your finds Lindsay. I love thrift store shopping (or op shopping as we call it). I was at one of my local stores yesterday and picked up a couple of good buys. We're off to a cocktail party on Saturday night and I didn't really want to go out and spend 100's of dollars on a new outfit when another cocktail party will probably be highly unlikely anytime in the near future. I thought about wearing a pair of nice dress black pants I have with a black no sleeve shirt under and I wanted a jacket to go over it. I found the most beautiful (famous Australia designer) 'tangerine' orange coloured taffeta mid length coat which can be buttoned as a top as well for $12! Also picked up a couple of long warm pants for my daughter who I thought was a size 7 but is still a size 6 so the things I bought earlier this year fall off her.
Looking forward to your future finds!

I'm sooo jealous of that ice cream maker! There are so many thrift stores nearby and I hardly ever go, even though I love to. I need to just kick myself in the rear as motivation to get there once a week. Of course, that would mean actually taking a shower. lol
Awesome finds!! That ice cream maker is fab!!
Oh! I have the BEST recipe for homemade ice cream:
1 small can eagle brand milk
1 can evaporated milk
2 c sugar, a little more if adding fruit
6 eggs, BEATEN
1 T vanilla extract
2% milk
Rock salt
Ice
Mix first 5 ingredients together. Add to ice cream freezer. Add 2% milk to the fill line. Place ice and rock salt around the container holding the ingredients. Plug in freezer and ice cream is ready to eat when maker stops churning. (You will need to continue to check the ice level until it's done, it melts fast. Add a little ice then some rock salt and keep going like that.)
:)
I love that vintage ice cream maker! Adorable!!!
You need to show us photos of all the delicious icecream you make! I need to keep an eye out for one of these, the kiddos would get a kick out of making there own treat over summer vacation.
And thats a pretty bracelet! I don't know what it is, but i NEVER look at jewelry when I thrift. Something I need to explore more often.
I have been going to the thrift store by my house since I was a child. One woman there, JoAnn, saves me pretty dresses in the back that she thinks I will like. It really is a plus to make friends with employees.
You racked in with the great thrift store finds! That bracelet? An icecream machine? Success!
